I don't see anything that you've written to be untrue and yet we all know it is unacceptable now to say this out loud without expecting to be tarred and feathered. Is there anything comparable in the history of medicine? Any other condition/mental illness/what have you, where you could not talk about it factually? Answering my own question, because this is thought of as similar to being LGB, the well-meaning but ignorant masses view this as bigotry, so won't look any deeper than that. I can understand how this would look to someone with that viewpoint — that those of us critical of the ideology are just so beyond wrong. Seems like the real work is getting people to understand the stark differences. At the very least, there is no medical treatment to make sure kids who say they're gay aren't mistaken for straight.
We had something very similar with lobotomies in the mid-20th century, however, lobotomies were quickly abandoned because they quickly boomed in popularity and society learned quickly about how damaging it was. While some cases of GID were diagnosed starting in the 1950s by the late 1970s there were only 1,000 cases of people with GID in North America, so nobody was paying much attention since nobody was affected by this socially constructed disorder. It was only in the 2010s that the number of people diagnosed with GID is increasing at similar rates as lobotomies were in the 1950s.
I though that GID was a natural condition until two years ago when I entered in contact with people afflicted with it and noticed that they were essentially trying to convince themselves that they had the soul of the opposite sex trapped inside themselves. It was them that I noticed there was something deeply wrong with "gender medicine." The fact is that all people who identify as transgender are gullible people with severe mental issues who are victims of this ideology.
I think that this mental health epidemic will end naturally as society will develop natural antibodies against it like it happened to lobotomies in the 1950s: I understood the issues with the concept of GID only after I came in contact with it, as more and more people are exposed to the logical inconsistency of "gender identity ideology" in particular with the tens of thousands of detransitioners like Helena Kerschner. So, the more people transition, the bigger the damage and the bigger the awareness that GID is a socially constructed disorder.
So, I expect that we would need hundreds of thousands of cases like Helena for society to turn itself around the concept of GID.
